Talent

i just discovered my dyslexic son's new interest and talent - MUSIC!

will blog bout that later. been so busy this past few days.

I'll blog on our journey in teaching him as well. everynight we'll (particularly my husband actually hehe) spend arnd half an hour to teach him to read. he still struggling with b and d. he can pronounce 'ba' 'bi 'bu' etc as well as 'da' 'di' 'du'. but when we joined 2 suku kata to produce words like 'dadu', 'lidi', 'mandi', he wont be able to recognize and pronounce them.

kesian anak mama.. but we'll read together again ye sayang... ;)

will update more once my time permits ;)

Loooong day at work!

the time is now 1.30am and i'm still in office.. Actually i just started work at 6pm and it's only gonna ended at 10am tomorrow. hell yes.. am working for straight 16hours y'all.. *cry*

pray hard that after long 16hrs of torturing my body and my brain, i still have the energy to drive back home.

if it's not for the DR (disaster recovery) test run, i wont be here.. this is part of IT support job whereby we need to run at least 2 round of DR tests every year to ensure that the system is running in good and full mode. this DR purposely to support the business.. in case anything happened to the production server (fire, flood etc) that caused it to fail, the company can always swap to DR server and run the business as usual. This is part of business continuation plan and practiced by every financial institution all over the world. mana bules rugi betul tak? hohohoh

and as a result, it's us, the IT support personnel have to suffer for lonnggggg hours :(

now am keeping my finger crossed and hoping that i wont have to do this anymore in future.. huhu

i'm aiming to do another kind of job in 2012.. till then, i will have to bear with all the pain of supporting system in IT department.. *sigh*

p/s: i have so many things to write but i guess i'll wait until my brain works in full throttle. :P

Letih..

sekarang musim xmenentu.. kejap ujan kejap ok. bagaimana dgn mood anda?

mood aku pun ikut musim. skrg mood malas melanda. kt opis mostly sumer org pg clearkn annual leave masing2.. opis sunyi sepi.. good news is, user pun ramai cuti so keje pun kurang.. tiap2 ari mood sengal.. pg gym pun dh jarang2 skrg.. teruk betul.. masuk arini dh 4ari ponteng gym. esok wajib pg ni..

my asben on the other hand sgt busy. ahad pun masuk opis siapkn statistik akhir taun.. aku rasa sejak asben jd ketua unit ni dia sgt sibuk. aku laks on the other hand sgt free.. dulu masa keje tmpt lama aku yg busy dia yg free.. dh lama keje busy, masuk keje baru agak free, aku dh immune dgn keadaan yg asben sentiasa ada.. now dia sibuk.. kdg2 nk borak panjang ari keje pun xder masa.. kalu dulu selalu gak call2.. skrg agak slow lah. since aku yg dulu selalu sibuk n dulu dia free, aku cam xdpt nk digest hakikat yg skrg asben aku sibuk.. tensen.. susah gak aku nk paham keje dia n hasilnya.. lately selalu la gaduh.. n puncanya aku ler yg xberapa nk paham.. biasa ler org perempuan.. gedik lebih.. demand mcm2 hahahaha..

hehehe susah ler nk digest dia sibuk sebab selama ni aku yg sibuk haha.. i guess workloads can take its toll against our marriage.. hohoho.. ntah ler.. kdg2 aku rasa fed up. pernah tak korg rasa pergaduhan bodoh buatkn korg fed up dgn mcm2 benda? aku bukan fed up dgn mr asben.. tp aku fed up dgn diri aku, dgn kondisi kitorg skrg.. n paling utama aku fed up nk bergaduh n skrg aku rasa lebih baik aku senyap. kalu aku senyap sbnrnya lebih bahaya dr aku berbunyik.. hahahaha

rabu ni aku terlibat dgn DR. nervous giler sbb aku masih blm fully familiar dgn keje company skrg.. rabu ni aku masuk keje kul 6ptg n balik khamis kul 10pg. aku harap aku masih mampu memandu pulang pada hari khamis nnt huhu.. eh apsal aku tulis cam BM paper SPM eh? hehehehe..

rabu ni aku kena anta mak aku ke stesen bas dulu.. dia nk balik kampung. mak aku stay kt sini dr khamis.. best ler mak dtg sbb mak tukang masak food yg sedap2 hahaha.. langgar pantang sungguh aku padahal punya la baru nk kurus nih hehe..

nnt ler aku update lg.. skrg vitamin M sedang melanda dgn byknya..

Edisi mencari kelas part I

sedang menaip sambil berbual dgn farris yg sedang main game PS2..
riuh dok bercerita psl game grand theft auto ni. yg aku blh paham cuma..

"dont go to one level xxxxxxxx.. dont touch. look xxx.. lets be quiet. now the police xxx. tengok! mama mari sini.. jangan naik atas xboleh. find that motor. see, one hundred. he's very good. now tembak up there. dont touch him, police!".. and byk lagi ayat2 lain yg aku xsempat nk salin...

* xxxxxx tu ayat2 yg aku xleh paham..
bila dia excited n bercerita panjang, dia akan fail kerana lost in his own words yg aku xpaham. tp kalu dia nk bercerita setakat 6,7 patah perkataan dia ok.. maybe bila dia nk open up for more conversation dia jd lost for words kot. or maybe mmg vocab dia kurang... wallahualam.. yg ni pun aku nk tanya doktor dia nnt.. harap2 aku xlupalah..

anyway ni artikel yg aku jupe.. psl phonics method utk ajar budak2 disleksia..
http://www.articlesbase.com/childhood-education-articles/prevent-dyslexia-with-easy-phonics-lesson-plan-and-flash-cards-1745281.html

Mencari kelas..

Aku sedang tercari2 kelas utk Farris... rasanya susah jugak nk mengajar dia sendiri sbb xtau cara yg betul. melalui pembacaan aku, budak2 disleksia ni perlu diajar menggunakan cara Phonics. aku ada la cari tutorial guna kaedah Phonics kt Youtube and ajak Farris belajar sama tp cara ni kurang praktikal sbb aku sendiri xtau canner nk sama2 ajar dia. Menarik mmg menarik tp aku mcm suruh Farris tgk sendiri sbb aku sendiri xtau canner nk menyampuk hehe..

aku rasa bukan takat Farris aje, aku sendiri pun kena pg kelas utk tau kaedah yg betul nk ajar dia. Nilah menda yg aku kena survey skrg..

Smlm aku make conversation dgn dia. Topik aku smlm tentang game PS2 yg dia main mlm td - Rachet and Clank. byk lah yg aku tanya tp adiknya pulak yg byk menyampuk n bersoal jawab dgn aku.. huhuhu anak dara aku mmg becok! Tp dialah penyeri rumah kitorg.. Farris xberapa byk bercakap. byk yg aku xberapa nk paham. Keluar bahasa2 yg xdapat difahami.. tp aku dpt tangkap beberapa patah perkataan - english words. Farris ni mmg lebih byk ckp english dr ckp melayu sbb dr belajar bercakap dia dh belajar kt english based kindy. aku pun masa dia kecik2 dulu agak gediklah asik speaking aje dgn dia.. now dia dh besar, aku ckp malay sbb kt sekolah cikgu2 dh ckp full english. biar dia tau 2 bahasa la kunun.. aku harap dia xconfuse lah dgn dwi bahasa yg dia kena belajar.. kalu budak biasa aku tau xder masalah.. tp ni anak aku keupayaan bercakap dia limited sikit.. harapnya menda tu xmendatangkn masalah lah kt dia..

Next appoinment dgn doktor, aku nk tanya doktor 2 benda ;

i) perlu ke Farris ni di hantar tuisyen/kelas sekarang? kalu perlu, sila bg surat refer so that senang kitorg nk bg kt bakal cikgu dia..
ii) Farris agak2nya dh sesuai ke tidak dihantar ke kelas Iqra? Aku teringin nk anta dia taun dpn (6taun) tp risau gaks kalu2 dia konfius ke, pening ke mcm2 nk kena belajar..

so far ni lah dua soalan aku nk tanya doktor nnt.. aku tulis siap2 dlm hp dgn harapan nnt aku xlupa.. samalah dgn jugak dgn aku tulis kt blog ni so that aku blh la baca n ingatkn diri sendiri.

aku baca blog sendiri??? of course aku baca! kan ni blog syok sendiri? huahahahahaha.. aku tulis aje apa aku nk tulis n yg terlintas dipikiran.. yang penting aku xtulis menda2 sensitip kau!!!

P/S: saya bukan blogger tegar :P

My wish..

lepas aku tulis pasal disleksia, ada beberapa org ibu2 yg bertanya pada aku lebih lanjut psl disleksia sbb dorg ckp apa yg aku tulis mcm kena kt anak masing2.. apa yg blh aku nasihatkan, kalu dorg nmpk simptom2 tu kt anak masing2, cpt2 la bawak jupe child psychiatrist utk buat assessment. Xsemestinya disleksia aje, blh jd ADHD or worst, Autisme. ADHD ni lebih kurang aje dgn disleksia.. kita cuma blh perasan simptom, tp diagnosis yg tepatnya hanya child psychiatrist yg blh tolong..

sejujurnya aku sgt hepi bila apa yg aku tulis dpt tolong org lain, directly or indirectly. dpt bukak mata org lain ttg learning disability ni pun dh cukup bg aku. blog aku ni as what my fren say, adalah blog2 underground.. xramai yg tau.. yg tau pun dr kelompok rakan2 terdekat aje.. pastu sesapa yg google insyaallah terjumpa punya blog ni..

aku lg suka kalu blog ni maintain low profile or as what she say "underground".. hehehe.. sbb aku tulis pun for fun aje. bukannya nk smpi jd blogger tegar sbb aku ni bukan pandai menulis pun. aku buat blog sbb kdg2 aku ada menda nk tulis.. wpun most of the time niat nk menulis tu ada tp bila mengadap laptop aje, mood aku tetiba hilang hahahah..

kepada yg nk jd blogger tegar, dipersilakan. apa salahnya kan mewarnai dunia blogging.. sbb aku pun suka gak hop from blog tu blog. ada gak blog2 yg dlm diam aku follow.. apa2 pun kalu korg berniat nk jd blogger tegar or blogger gemeler, just make sure jauhkn diri masing2 dr kontroversi.. kang xpasal2 kena saman hohoho.. nk sensasi punya pasal, xpasal2 jd lain hohohoho.. terbaru uncle seekers (http://uncleseekers.blogspot.com/) dh kena saman pulak.. adoi apa sudah jadi pakcik. saya masuk blog pakcik nk baca psl hantu.. sekali lain pulak dah cerita pakcik yer.. huhuhu..

apa2pun aku harap blog aku ni dpt tolong org esp parents yg menghadapi masalah yg sama mcm kitorg.. besar harapan aku nk tgk sumer parents dlm dunia ni aware dgn menda2 mcm ni.. n aku harap aku akan ada kerajinan nk update blog ni from time to time psl farris sbb aku harap, bila farris dh boleh membaca, dia akan baca blog ni.. aku nk dia tau apa pun masalah dia, dia tetap anak yg mama n papa dia sayang..

aku gak nk anak aku yg becok itu, safiya maisarah, bila dia besar nnt, dia pun blh baca blog ni n aku harap dia paham kenapa mama n papa dia lebihkan abang dr segi perhatian.. aku yakin dia akan faham..

Yg pastinya, selepas dpt tau Farris ada masalah mild disleksia, aku rasa aku lebih menghargai org2 yg disekeliling aku.

aku lebih menghargai parents aku esp mak aku.. selain dr xputus2 bg sokongan, aku rasa lebih menghargai mak aku sbb aku tau masa dulu2, mak n bapak aku lg susah hidup dorg.. dr segi ekonomi dorg sgt susah.. ditambah pulak jaga adik aku yg masa tu sakit jantung berlubang dr lahir smpilah dia meninggal dunia masa umur dia 17taun. aku rasa sesusah2 aku, berganda2 lg susah dorg.. tp btl ckp mak aku.. 'kasih sayang mengatasi segala-gala'. skrg aku paham ckp mak aku sbb tu lah yg aku rasa dgn Farris skrg..
mcm tu jugak dgn adik beradik yg lain.. terima kasih la sbb bg sokongan n selalu call or sms tanya kabar kitorg.. begitu jugak dgn kwn2 yg tau psl kondisi farris.. terima kasih la atas sokongan korg. ada yg aku bgtau sendiri, ada yg tau dr blog ni.yelah kn xkn ler aku nk call sorg2 n cerita pulak. byk masa lapang aku nk buat menda tu sumer?? haha

sbb kasih sayang mengatasi segalanya lah aku dgt bersyukur sbb Farris ada bapak sehebat bapak dia sekarang.. aku terasa sgt bersyukur dlm keadaan mcm ni, aku ada husband yg aku blh rely on tak kira masa dan tempat. xpernah sekalipun dia lepas tgn bab2 penjagaan anak2 n skrg, tambah lg tugas dia, mengajar anak2.. dr dulu, sebelum pg keje, incik asben akan dukung farris bwk turun.. tidokn dpn TV. pastu naik semula utk amik baju sekolah, suar dlm farris, stokin farris n letak kt bawah. so that bibik dh xyah naik cari2 barang farris. setiap kali ada brg yg kena bawak ke sekolah, asben yg akan siapkn n bubuh dlm beg sekolah farris. setiap hari khamis, dia akan lipat kain pelekat farris n amik kopiah farris n letak dlm beg sbb farris ada kelas solat setiap hari khamis.. smpikn bila asben xder, aku kalu nk buat menda2 tu sumer n kdg2 aku lupa sbb aku xpernah buat... mcm tu jugak dgn mandikan anak, basuh berak anak, tukar pampers anak, dia xpernah berkira. Bila farris ada masalah skrg, aku rasa bersyukur sgt sbb aku tgk dlm sibuk2 dia, dia masih sempat luangkan masa ajar Farris. aku rasa aku lebih menghargai dia skrg sbb aku tahu Allah bg anak2 aku seorang ayah yg hebat dan Allah bg aku seorang suami yg sanggup susah senang dgn aku..

farris pulak, sejak makan ubat yg doktor bg n makan omega 3 fish oil ni, aku tgk dh ada perubahan in terms of communication. kalau dulu susah nk bersoal jawab dgn dia tp skrg dh senang. nk dptkn attention dia pun dh senang sikit. eye contact pun dh senang dpt skrg.. tp jd rutin asben n aku sendiri lah mlm2 kalau xmengajar dia pun, kitorg akn spend byk masa utk berbual dgn dia. aku biasanya akn try berbual perkara2 yg farris excited n bercerita balik.. kalau dulu byk masa spend bergumpal dgn anak2.. skrg ni tukar style lain sikit lah.. bonding dgn anak2 dgn cara berbual ttg sesuatu topik n make sure anak2 participate. tp biasanya kalau berborak dgn yg perempuan tu laju je mulut dia menjawab sbb dia sgt petah.. tp kalau dgn farris, sgt lah susah nk dptkn komunikasi dua hala dgn dia. yg ni agak mencabar jugak ler..

kalu bab teknologi tu dr dulu dia sgt advance. aku rasa dia ni esok akan jd computer geek. smlm aku dok baca paper dia mintakkan aku on laptop sbb nk main game zuma. aku ckp dgn dia nnt dulu sbb aku nk solat.. masa tu asben tido. xlama lepas tu, lepas aku siap wuduk, aku kuar dr bilik air, aku dgr dia dh menembak2.. aku jenguk dlm bilik TV, nmpk dia tgh main zuma. terkejut aku dia blh on pc sendiri, pg Drive D, masuk folder game n select game zuma.. not bad for 5 and 9mths old boy kan.. hehe..

aku kdg2 terpikir, dgn kebijaksanaan dia, kalau lah dia xmild disleksia, apa dia akan jd kan.. a genius maybe? wallahualam.. tp tulah.. Allah tu maha adil.. dia tarik satu, di bgnya satu. budak2 disleksia bermasalah nk belajar sbb fungsi otak dorg xsama dgn org lain.. tp at the same time, Allah bg mereka dgn IQ yg baik, n kelebihan2 kt bidang2 lain.. Sesungguhnya Allah tu maha kaya dan apa yg dia bg or dia uji tu dtg dgn hikamh yg sgt besar.. kita sbgi umatnya perlu redha n kuatkn ketaatan dan keimnan ajelah.. insyallah, Allah will guide us thru.. insyaallah amin..

Cerita pasal poligami

Pagi2 masuk opis, aku disapa oleh sang jejaka (masih kategori jejaka kah kalau sudah beranak pinak? huhu) yg blh tahan menggeletisnya dgn anak dara.. oleh kerana aku ni mak dara, xder la dia nk menggeletis dgn aku kan..

tpnya pg2 lg dia dh bersyarah ttg kawin lebih drpd satu. pastu siap tanya aku kenapa perempuan takut sgt bab poligami.. maka, disebabkn aku ni dilahirkn oleh mak aku dgn sifat2 feminist yg tinggi (read: kepetahan berbicara yg agak petah), maka aku telah memberi sedas dua kt dia.. padan muka kau! terus diam.. hahah

personally lah, aku rasa aku ok aje kalu laki tu nk berpoligami asalkn mereka memenuhi syarat2 seperti berikut yg aku rasa betul menurut perkiraan aku lah...

i) lelaki itu mustilah beriman yg tebal.. bukan iman nipis cam kulit bawang.. yg so-so aje. maklumlah kalu kawin dua, nk kena tanggung dosa 2 isteri, tanggung dosa anak2 lagi. kalu ada doblas anak.. hambek kau!!! tanggung lah bosa 15 org yakni 2 isteri, doblas anak dan dosa diri sendiri? hah!!! ada brannnnnn??? sila jawab..sekarang cuba buat matematik sikit yer.. congak2 la sendiri kalu isteri nya bukan 2, tp 3 atau 4. pastu anak bertiti.. mampukah? hohoho
ii) mustilah mampu mendidik isteri2 dan anak2.. kalu satu isteri pun tak terdidik, lupakan lah hajat nk beristeri ramai..
iii) mustilah mampu dr segi financial.. kalu masa bini sorg pun bini kena keje tolong support laki, maka sekali lg silalah lupakan hajat anda kerana saya rasa anda masih blm layak lagi..

bukan sng nk buat masjid byk2 ni. tp kebanyakan org otak sempit. pikir yg dlm seluar aje. yg lain2 xnk pikir.. maka utk lelaki2 yg membaca blog ini termasuklah inche suami ku yg kacak bergaya itewww (kot2 la ada hajat jugak kannnnnn).. sila baca n lu pikirlah sendiri heheh.. hohohohoh

P/s: tu perkiraan aku sendiri.. maybe dr segi hukum hakam yg sebenarnya lain laks fakta nya mintak ampun lah yer.. mak bukan ustazah nyah.. maka xberapa tau hukum hakam dgn tepat.. tu pandangan sendiri yg dirasakan agak betul..

Analogies ~ best explains what Dyslexia is all about.

Source : http://www.understandingdyslexia.co.uk/

1) Dyslexia and computers

Imagine you get a beautiful new computer for Christmas.

It has a huge hard disc, lots of games included in the box, speakers and a colour printer.

When you have set it up it does not work as you had hoped. The software is for an Apple Mac (you have a PC) and the printer cannot print your work from the computer because the correct printer driver is missing.

There is nothing wrong with the computer - it has a good memory, an excellent processor and all the internal workings it needs. There is a problem with the input because of the Apple Mac discs, and the output because of the printer driver. This is a bit like being dyslexic. It may be that the input your child receives does not match his/her own way of working. Some subjects at school or home will be presented in a compatible language/system and therefore get into his/her brain (computer). Other subjects do not even get inputted. It is like hearing somebody talking to you in a different language which you cannot understand. Similarly with output, a dyslexic child or student may have all the ideas and knowledge in his/her head but be unable, like the computer, to print it out, or get it down on paper.

2) IQ and fast cars

Imagine you have a beautiful new fast car on your driveway at home but you don’t know how to drive it.

Once you have started driving lessons you can progress through various skills and techniques, mastering corners and roundabouts and ultimately driving safely on your own.

Many dyslexic children have been assessed and told they have a high IQ and yet feel confused. If the child is doing very badly at school and knows that he/she is not getting the same good marks as his/her friends, then he/she may not be convinced of the value of a high IQ. This high IQ may be like the fast car that you have not yet learned to drive.

A specially trained teacher can help to teach your child how to use his/her IQ to its full advantage.

3) Dyslexia and disabilities

Dyslexia is hidden. People can not see that your child has dyslexia by looking at him/her.

This may be an advantage. No-one in the street will stare and point at your dyslexic son or daughter - as they do with some other disabilities. However, it also means that your dyslexic child may have been undiagnosed for many years. As a parent you may not realise that your child is experiencing problems, or what the cause of some of your child’s difficulties may be.

People have many differences which are hidden, some of which are considered as disabilities and others as handicaps. Colour blindness is a handicap if your child wants to be a pilot; having coeliac disease excludes a young person from joining the army. A poor short-term memory, poor handwriting, slow reading and bad spelling can make it harder for your dyslexic child to follow some careers, but it is not an automatic ban like colour blindness.

There are dyslexic:

• doctors

• lawyers

• actors

• swimmers

• footballers

• memory champions

• business people

• and entrepreneurs.

Success depends on so many factors and as parents you can encourage beneficial attitudes in your child:

• to do his/her best

• not to give up

• to keep trying regardless of the setbacks and difficulties

• to be determined to find answers

• to achieve his/her goals

or even

• to prove people who think he/she cant learn wrong.

4) Attitude and rain

When it rains some people are happy and other people are sad. It depends not on the rain but their attitude to it. Some would think of the disadvantages and say “I can’t go out”. Others think of the advantages and say “The garden needs the rain”.

In my view, the reaction to the diagnosis of dyslexia is similar. The attitude both you and your child take can determine future success or failure. Attitude can be changed more easily than dyslexia. This change is something that may happen overnight or take years.

Many dyslexic teenagers say that being dyslexic has made them think about areas which may be automatic to others. They have thought about:

• their motivation

• how they learn better

• where they study better

• how they can remember better

• the importance of organisation

• and how their feelings about certain teachers affects their learning.

Many students do not need to consider these areas because the process of learning has been easy. With appropriate guidance the dyslexic student, who finds study difficult, may start to develop sensible attitudes and strategies to help alleviate his/her problems.

5) Planning lessons and choosing a holiday

Deciding how to help your dyslexic child is like looking through holiday brochures before you plan a holiday. If you know what is available you can choose and save up for it.

Some flights get booked up very early. Similarly many teachers and educational psychologists are booked up for some weeks or even months ahead. It is essential to plan in advance the help your child may need. It is important to find out what schooling and help are available. As well as asking schools, look at resources such as the Dyslexia Handbook, and contact the local Dyslexia Associations, Dyslexia Teaching Centres, or educational psychologists.

6) Teaching and eating

In a restaurant you would expect a choice of foods to satisfy your hunger.

There is no single food that suits all people, all nationalities or all tastes. I believe the same is true with teaching methods for your dyslexic child. All dyslexic children are not the same, although they may have similar difficulties. The underlying causes may be different, and certainly the interests and experience of each child will be different.

Each person has an individual way of learning. A teacher should offer a variety of methods for teaching spelling and literacy skills. The discussion should not be “which is the best method, phonics, look and say, or real books? ”, but “which method, or combination of methods, is most suitable for this child? ”

We are all advised to give our children a healthy diet, balancing the dietary needs and the preferences of each child. Similarly an experienced teacher would not use only one method of teaching but would balance the methods he/she used.

7) The seven intelligences and Trivial Pursuits

With luck a person can get around the Trivial Pursuits board, and even win, only answering questions about his/her favourite topic. Similarly, some people have successful careers in sport or music regardless of their knowledge of literature or geography.

Howard Gardner, a professor at Harvard University, talks about the seven intelligences:

• Linguistic

• Mathematical

• Visual/spatial

• Kinaesthetic

• Musical

• Interpersonal

• Intrapersonal

At school children sometimes feel as if the dice are heavily loaded towards the first two intelligences. But in the outside world, if your child can maintain confidence and self-esteem, the other intelligences are useful and valued. For example, musicians, sports people, crafts people and those who care for others are all essential members of our society.

8) Memory and computers

There are several types of memory.

The short-term memory can contain pictures or sounds and is useful to store information temporarily. But unless information is transferred to long-term memory from short-term memory it is lost after a few seconds. It is like typing anything on a word processor. Unless it is saved regularly it will be lost as soon as the computer is turned off.

Long-term memory is the equivalent of the hard disc on a computer. Long-term memory contains pictures, words, feelings, experiences, knowledge of everyday actions as well as meanings and spellings. Items stored in long-term memory are secure - they cannot be wiped off. Although normally this information is stored safely, occasionally a power surge or computer virus, a stroke or meningitis may impair the information in long-term memory.

Because something can be remembered for a short time it does not mean that the information will be remembered automatically in future, or that it has been transferred to the long-term memory.

Dyslexic children may seem to know some information, or be able to repeat a spelling, or read a word just after it has been told to him/her, but this only tests the short-term memory. It does not prove that the information has been transferred to long-term memory. For many dyslexic children it is necessary to actively transfer information from their short-term memory to their long-term memory.

9) Short-term memory and fuses

If you overload an electric circuit by running too many heaters, lights or large electrical items the fuse will blow.

Short-term/working memory is like this. If a dyslexic child puts one too many items into his/her memory all the items may be forgotten.

A child needs to find what his/her memory can cope with, and organise the input of information in appropriately sized chunks to prevent overload and fusing.

10) Recalling and filing

Although all information stored in a hard disc, or even a floppy disc, is secure it does not mean you can find it. There may be files on your computer that are not labelled clearly, or are confusing. You may have computer discs that have no labels and it would take hours to search through each one to find the particular letter or document needed.

Similarly with dyslexic children, they may have stored information, vocabulary or spellings but not have filed them in an easily accessible place. The time it takes for these children to search for a word means that they may have forgotten what they are looking for, or that the moment has passed and everybody else is talking about a different topic.

In a more traditional analogy it is like trying to find a book in a library that has no classification system, and in which the books are arranged randomly on the shelves. The search can take a long time and be very frustrating.

Dyslexic children can be taught to label and organise the information they store and, like a library, can have a good classification system, which saves time and effort.

Conclusion and road-works

If you encountered road-works on a journey, it is unlikely that you would turn back, go home, and decide not to go out until the road-works were cleared. It is more likely that you would find an alternative route by which you could reach your destination.

Children with dyslexia encounter many difficulties in their journeys, and must be encouraged not to give up. Parents can play a big part in helping their child to find alternative routes and methods to reach his/her goals.

Toys

Dah 2minggu Farris dok mintak belikan dia Hot Wheels Battle For 5. dia asik sebut bunyinya mcm '545'. dia dok usung sehelai kertas dr pamplet toys r us ke sana kemari.. asik mintak dibelikan aje.

Ada lg 2 toys, kangaroo n teddy bear dlm bilik tidur. bawak tido. yg lain2 sumer toys kecik2 selamat aku simpan dlm kotak n sorok jauh2!

P/S: aku sgt berangan nk pg sini.. http://www.rwsentosa.com/

ada perasaan nk ajak asben pg sini bulan 5/6 nnt.. kitrog xder hadiah anniversary. kitorg tukar dgn holiday. asben ada sebut anniversary taun ni pg Legend Water Chalet kt PD sbb kwn2 dia ckp best.. tp aku rasa aku nk g Sentosa lah.. wpun Legend Water Chalet tu gempak, tp utk digest the fact that, tempat itu hanyalah di PD yg xberapa jauh tu, aku rasa cam xberapa best aje hehehe.. plan asal nk pg Bali tp ehem! Bali kalu bajet cukup blh lah.. kalu so-so aje baik pg Sentosa aje.. kalu mengikut perkiraan aku skrg, Bali tu mcm nk kena pospon aje hehehehe..

Insyaallah.. amin

Anak-anak..

nak buat peace kena tgk jari dulu :P

Natrah musim ke - 2 - Dari kaca mata seorang bukan insan seni :P

akhirnya.. dpt gak aku tgk Natrah, wpun pd mulanya aku kansel xnk booking masa huru hara erma fatima tarik diri tu.. aku nk tgk Natrah buah tgn erma.. bukan org lain. bg aku, Natrah dgn Erma 'ngam' mcm Puteri Gunung Ledang dgn Tiara? haaa betul tak? haha

so 26hb tu date kitrog punya show. masa aku booking tu tiket yg tggl cuma tiket murah je (RM50 n RM30), so aku pun beli la yg RM50 n seat xcun! yg cun semua dh abis.. tp still better dr RM30 punya tiket kan. kalu aku beli tiket RM30 harus aku cuma nmpk songkok Remy Ishak je kang..

aku pg sana dgn incik asben. abis keje, aku turun opis tapau subway utk aku n asben. Opis aku ada subway outlet.. baru gak la bukak dlm sebulan lebey gitu. before this San Fracisco coffee.. pas siap tapau, aku naik monorel ke opis asben. pastu trus ke Istana Budaya. Jem masa tu. panik aku tkt lmbt smpi. show kul 8.30 tp aku siang2 panik haha. smpi2 aje Istana Budaya kul 7.10 lebey kurang. aku n asben makan subway dulu pastu g solat. pas solat pusing2 tgk segala banner la display psl Aids lah psl Natrah la apa lah.. kt sini gaks terjumpa Aida Rod, geng masa kt Kolej Mara Banting dulu. dia dtg dgn geng2 opis dia.. pastu ada gak jupe opismate (dept lain)..

jengjengjeng.. kerana kau ku beli tiket ini hahahah.. eh takdelah.. aku mmg nk tgk citer Natrah ni. cuma bila Remy yg jd hero nya.. ehem! bonus lah kan hehe

bersama my real Mansor Adabi. Tima kasih lah inche suami yg sporting relax tahap gaban aje masa aku ajak temankn tgk Remy Ishak kuikui.. u r my only mansor adabi lah darling.. ;)

dgn Aida Rod..

view pentas dr seat kitorg. punyalah xberapa sedap mata memandang kan huhu..

kitrog masuk panggung kul 8.15. pttnya show stat kul 8.30 mlm.. tp kul 9.10 mlm baru setat.. sebab tunggu Tuanku Nurzahirah smpi baru la show setat.. abis lmbt seh.. kul 11 lebey. since dh lmbt, asben pun xsbr2 nk tgk anak2 dia yg dua org tu, maka aku dh miss sessi amik otograf. melepas aku nk tgk pelakon2 dr jarak kurang 20cm.. tp mana lg penting? anak ke artis2.. of course la anak2 kan.. so aku pun dgn rela ati angkat kaki seribu sebaik kuar dr panggung..

Pendapat aku ttg teater ini...
i) Pelakon adalah sgt best2.. nama2 besar cam Remy Ishak, Maya Karin, Sofea Jane (Natrah umur 70), Umie Aida, Liyana Jasmay, Nabila Huda, Aaron Aziz (bang! gemuk lh skrg. diet la sikit huhu), Fizz Fairuz, Ziela Jalil (sedapnya suara dia!!).. err sapa lg eh.. owh yer Lufya (sikit je watak dia. Natrah masa umur 20taun) n Sharifah Sofia (Natrah umur 40. pun sikit aje)
ii) Lakonan semua pelakon sgt mantap. rasa menusuk ke jiwa gitu... paling aku suka Sofea Jane. watak dia monolog aje.. tp berdiri bulu roma aku siot huhu. Remy Ishak n Maya Karin of course le bagus..
iii) paling suprise lagu Kuch Kuch Hota Hai di melayukan.. n Remy Ishak menari bollywood! Wuhuuuuu!!! my jaw dropped.. n satu panggung bersorak seh! infact semua lagu dlm citer ni sgt la merdu n best..
iv) Story line bagus, mixed feeling.. sedih, kelakar sumer ada.. tp byk sgt monolog so utk org yg dr kelas Pure Science mcm aku (bukan jiwa sastera), monolog terlampau byk adalah sgt menekankn perasaan n memcetuskn sedikit keboringan gitu..
v) Props.. perghh.. ini terbaekkk.. cun gilos!!!
vi) dialog... humm yg ni ada satu yg aku xberapa berkenan.. zaman masa aku blm lahir dh ada ke perkataan 'dorg'? aku rasa sgt janggal.. sepatutnya perkataan 'dorg' tu xpatut ada.. patutnya yg dilontarkn adalah perkataan 'mereka'.. betul tak? huhu

overall, aku puas hati lah wpun aku tgk xberapa dkt dr pentas huhu.. aku bg 4.5 bintang lah dr markah penuh 5 bintang hehehe..
